Our very own second centre was dedicated on 26 September 2010 and launched for use. With this our training capacity has increased from 25 to 40. The new centre also allow us to build 2 teaching rooms, a meeting room and an administrative office. The existing centre has been converted into a full fledged bakery. We have also created space for a small training cafetaria to train our trainees how to take orders, serve and collect monies.
2011 promise to be exciting as we delve into some unknown areas. We were extremely pleased with the great support received last year from participants of our charity golf tournament and guests of our fund raising dinner. Collectively these 2 major events helped raise about RM140,000 towards our building fund created to repair and renovate the new centre. We also received over RM23,000 from the Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpour to equip our new bakery and cafe.
The focus for the coming years is to appeal for donations towards our partnership fund which aims to finance our operating expenses. Last November we employed an administrative officer and early this year a part time trainer. We will need to employ another part time trainer and a job placement officer in due course. Running two centres means additional overheads and we anticipate the running costs to be between RM8,000 - RM10,000 per month. Or USD2,500 - 3,300 per month.
