Dear friends,

We start the new year with a bang, literally. We received the key to the building we bought to expand our training centre in early January and a taskforce was formed to study how to maximise its usage and came up with this proposal which we accepted unanimously. To keep the present centre as a bakery centre and to move the card making and straw packing projects into the new centre which will also house the admin office, conference room and teaching rooms.
This cost of the building acquisition and bringing it to shape runs into about RM250,000 or about USD 76,000. Having the new centre ready means giving opportunity to another 20 new trainees to come under our wing. We already have a few on the waiting list. Every year more learning disabled kids will reach 18 years, ready to start finding a job to do to keep themselves occupied, and making new friends. We will become a clearing house to train and emplace so places are created for new candidates to get exposed to job skills training.

Growing larger means added responsibility and challenges. Funding is the first to consider as well as getting more staff and volunteers. Our desire is to have quality training in an environment that help our trainees grow holistically.

These are our areas of appeal.

1.    Partnership Appeal
2.    Building Fund Appeal
3.    Donate an Equipment Appeal
4.    Be a Volunteer
5.    Job Employment Opportunity

I am a firm believer of teamwork and I believe that our readers will be able to find an area they can involve in to make PBSNS truly relevant and important to the community of learning disabled people in Negeri Sembilan.
